Here are some examples of restorative cosmetic cases I have treated with porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges and composite bonding in New Malden and Harley Street.
This lady had stained, dark front teeth with vertical cracks, old unsightly porcelain/metal crowns and bridges, and slightly crooked teeth. We first did some tooth whitening, then replaced the old crowns and bridges with modern highly aesthetic all ceramic restorations and placed some porcelain veneers on the other teeth. She was delighted with her new smile.
This lady had severe acid wear at the back of her front teeth from a medical condition called acid reflux where stomach acid comes back into the mouth. This had made the front teeth thin and yellow. They were also a little crooked. She was desperate to have her teeth fixed in time for her to be a bridesmaid at her sister’s wedding. We prioritized treating her front teeth so this was done in time for the wedding and carried out some work further back afterwards.
This lady had crown and bridges on most of her teeth, which were around 30 years old. The gums had receded leaving an unsightly appearance with the grey metal edges of the crowns showing. One tooth on the upper right needed to be extracted. The lower premolars were very worn. We replaced all the old crown and bridge work, extracted the failing tooth and placed an implant, and placed direct composite veneers on the worn lower premolars.
This lady had veneers on her front teeth that had fallen off before so she wanted them replaced with crowns. She also had a problem with acid wear caused to her teeth from drinking lots of fizzy drinks when she used to work behind a bar. Because a lot of enamel had already been lost from the acid arosion we were able to make 6 front crowns that fitted over the teeth with very little drilling. We also whitened her teeth too.
This gentleman had a history of tooth grinding and had worn down his upper front teeth so you could hardly see them when he smiled. We first did some tooth whitening, then placed 6 aesthetic all ceramic crowns on his upper front teeth to protect the teeth from further wear and restore his smile. We completed his treatment in time for him to run the London Marathon and cross the finishing line with his new winning smile!
This gentleman had his teeth straightened by a specialist orthodontist but at the end of treatment the appearance of his teeth was still badly affected by old white fillings and worn teeth. One visit was all that was needed to replace the old fillings and contour and smooth the edges of his teeth.
This gentleman had yellow worn front teeth and many missing back teeth. We first did some tooth whitening, then placed aesthetic metal free all ceramic crowns on the front teeth to improve the colour, shape and position, and bridges from the canines back, to replace the missing back teeth. He was thrilled with his new smile.
This gentleman had a severely protruding front tooth and his other front teeth were tilted back. We extracted the front tooth and at the same appointment fitted a temporary bridge. After 3 months we fitted a permanent 3 tooth bridge with a crown on the 4th incisor. Whilst it may seem extreme to extract a tooth a high quality bridge can last 20 years or more before needing replacement. Orthodontic treatment would have taken a very long time in such a case, and he would have needed to wear life long retainers to stop the teeth moving back to the original position.
This lady wanted to improve the appearance of her upper front teeth with minimal intervention. We added artificial enamel to improve the shape of the teeth with no drilling, in one visit.
This gentleman wanted to replace his old silver fillings with white fillings.
This lady hated the gaps between her teeth but did not want her teeth to be 'shaved' for porcelain veneers. So with no drilling we placed composite (artificial enamel) directly onto the teeth in one visit.
This young lady had had a filling in her front tooth for many years, and unfortunately the appearance of it was not very good. We placed a cosmetic glass ceramic crown. Notice how difficult it is to distinguish the tooth from the adjacent tooth. This requires good communication with an excellent technician to copy all the features of the adjacent front tooth, such as the vague white lines and patches in the surface layer. Without doing this the new crown just wouldn't match.
